When we started our work in 2008, we understood that working together could help our students with challenging behaviors much more efficiently. After 2020 we started to notice the impact of COVID-19 on our families and the development of our students. We have been counseling briefly during parent/teacher conferences and phone appointments. Still, we see that there is a need for more attention to the development of very loving parents that need a little help to get comfortable parenting in these new uncertain, and challenging times. So I decided to launch a program intentionally focused on this very thing. With classes at the school available to the whole community, hours available for collaboration and consulting, weekly checking as little ones grow, and even home visits to see the different dynamic and real-time observations that can support the family and, in turn, transform the relationship and the expand their capacity for joy, love, and connection.
